I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
A great blue heron knocks back a quick snack after plucking this fish out of the marsh this morning.

Wonderful image, Phil. Thanks for showing me your GBH. 🙂

Can’t get enough of watching the resident GBHs here. So graceful when flying, so determined when hunting.

This guy was particularly determined. There were quite a few fish jumping but just out of his reach which I could tell was frustrating. But he kept at it. Thanks Sid!

I hope you offered some coffee to help wash it down! That’s a beautiful bird with your usual impeccable timing.

He wasn’t going to be sticking that big beak in any of my coffee! However… if he offers to buy next time I’ll be happy to go get it.
Glad you noticed and liked the timing, it’s something I really try for, so I appreciate you mentioning it.
