I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
Earlier this week a wood stork doing some morning fishing plucked a nice mullet out of the marsh for breakfast.
That wouldn’t be my first choice from a breakfast menu, but Woody seemed quite pleased with his meal!

Oh my, what a great photo! I’ve never seen a wood stork. One of these days, I’ll head to Florida for a birding trip!

Hey glad you liked seeing our pal Woody! The wood storks are late arriving here this summer but we can have well over a hundred at times.

Haha great photo! Will that huge mullet slide down Woody’s gullet?

Oh Woody got the fish down with no problem at all. It’s funny too, although they are big birds I most often see them catch and eat small things.

His look might be an acquired taste but I like them too. 🙂

Beautiful. I’d choke on that for breakfast before I got to the size.

I kind of lost my taste for breakfast after watching Woody gulp down his meal.
I was thinking a nice omelette though for mine. Maybe ham & cheese but no fish.
