Wet And Hungry
There were several ospreys fishing around the salt marsh yesterday afternoon and this one hit the water right in front of me.
We both hoped he would come up with a nice fish. He wanted lunch and I wanted an exciting photo.
But all we both ended up with was a wet, unhappy, and still hungry bird.
He kept at it though, ospreys are hard working birds and when everyone sees big fish jumping out there, it’s game on!
wonderful photos
Well I greatly appreciate you looking and commenting and glad you like the osprey photos.
Foto fantastiche, il falco bagnato però è buffo 🙂
Ciao, Pat
lui è bagnato e divertente, ma ancora fame. 🙂
Wow… that are awesome shots…
Thank you, glad you enjoyed them.
Oh, poor Osprey….happy fishies. 🙂 Great captures, Phil. 🙂
The only thing that would have been worse for the osprey would be if he caught a big fish then got jumped by a thieving eagle who I did see lurking in an nearby tree.
Just awesome well done !
I appreciate you checking them out, thanks!
Sometimes, Phil … just ‘wow’ – how you manage to capture these birds’ movements is astounding. The stills shots give us such a powerful insight into the magnificence of life.
Thanks a million for your very kind comments, I appreciate it very much.
It really is amazing to see a big bird like this hit the water right in front of you.
Great series Phil!— Haven’t seen any for several weeks. Think they must have headed your way! Thanks!
Thanks very much! We had five or six all out at the same time yesterday and all fishing hard. Fun to watch!
Hard working and then Old Baldy comes along and snatches his catch. Grrr….. 😦
I saw the pirate sitting in a far off tree waiting like a spider to pounce. I wonder if the poor little eagle had to actually [gasp] go get his own fish.
That is one disgruntled bird!
I do feel bad when they come up empty because they sure do work hard.
Great sequence, fish or not! RH
It’s times like these when it’s tempting to get greedy and wish there was a nice fish to make the photos better and I’m sure the osprey wishes he had one too!
Nothing worse than wet and hungry. You, on the other hand, were dry with amazing shots and I’m guessing a snack in your not-too-distant future.
I did manage to stay dry all the while with visions of snacks dancing in my head.
Glad you liked seeing the wet bird.
Phenomenal photographs Phil! 🙂
Well I appreciate that Adrian, thanks a bunch!
Wow…. Truly amazing captures! Wonderful shots of that power.
Hey thanks a million for checking these out and glad you like them!
Great shots from the Visarend 🙂
I am happy you like the visarend!
These are amazing! So clear. It’s weird to see them so far under water.
It is weird. Especially since they are rather large birds you would not expect them to go that far under.
