Wet And Hungry
There were several ospreys fishing around the salt marsh yesterday afternoon and this one hit the water right in front of me.
We both hoped he would come up with a nice fish. He wanted lunch and I wanted an exciting photo.
But all we both ended up with was a wet, unhappy, and still hungry bird.
He kept at it though, ospreys are hard working birds and when everyone sees big fish jumping out there, it’s game on!

wonderful photos

The only thing that would have been worse for the osprey would be if he caught a big fish then got jumped by a thieving eagle who I did see lurking in an nearby tree.

Hard working and then Old Baldy comes along and snatches his catch. Grrr….. 😦

I saw the pirate sitting in a far off tree waiting like a spider to pounce. I wonder if the poor little eagle had to actually [gasp] go get his own fish.

That is one disgruntled bird!

I do feel bad when they come up empty because they sure do work hard.

It’s times like these when it’s tempting to get greedy and wish there was a nice fish to make the photos better and I’m sure the osprey wishes he had one too!

Nothing worse than wet and hungry. You, on the other hand, were dry with amazing shots and I’m guessing a snack in your not-too-distant future.

I did manage to stay dry all the while with visions of snacks dancing in my head.

These are amazing! So clear. It’s weird to see them so far under water.

It is weird. Especially since they are rather large birds you would not expect them to go that far under.
