I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
This cormorant may not have chosen the *best* spot to stand around and dry off his wings. But other then one big mouth, no one seems to care much so I guess it’s working out OK for now.

Oh man, that is a walk on the truly wild side.

It still amazes me how often the birds appear to actually ignore the alligators. And lucky for the birds the gators do the same. 🙂

It seems there is a lot of risk taking at your pond.

Some of the birds seem to enjoy living on the edge. Brave or just dopey? Not always sure. 🙂

Wow, I think the cormorant was really pushing his luck. 😯 Was he playing ‘Chicken’?

That cormorant better hope those gators are not thinking… ummm… chicken. 🙂

The funny thing is how thoroughly unconcerned the bird looks!

Wow, he’s taking his life into the danger zone. That is definitely alligator island — and that one guy was sure letting him know about it! Love that reflection!

I can’t make up my mind whether he is very brave or on a suicide mission!

That does look a bit risky. Still, I expect he’s ready to take off if there’s a move from his companions…
