I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.

He hardly looks brown at all in this shot. Does their coloring change as they age, or perhaps because he’s wet?
Yes their coloration does change as they age. This is an adult brown pelican who no longer has much if any brown on him. As juveniles they are mostly all brown, check out this post from Dec. which shows a young brown pelican looking ‘brown’.

He’s a goofy looking bird, but your captures make him look beautiful. Love the action here and his wings.
Although fairly common here, I still feel compelled to watch and photograph these big guys.
