In A Twist
When you look at this female anhinga it’s easy to understand how they are sometimes referred to as a ‘snake bird’.
When I saw this lovely young lady soaking up the sun at the edge of the marsh yesterday morning, her personality and unique talents shone through.
Beautiful shot. He looks like he has fur, he is beautiful and as usual your photography is amazing.
We always say that too, when they dry off it looks like cat fur! 🙂
your title fits perfectly – she is a beauty and she knows it!
I believe you are right, she seems quite pleased with herself. 🙂
Gorgeous portrait.
Thanks so much glad you liked it!
Great capture. Love this shot
I’m very happy you enjoyed seeing Mrs. Anhinga!
She is a true beauty! I admire that Mona Lisa smile of hers!
She does have that rather coy smile. Thanks Vicky!
Beautiful portrait!
Thanks very much for checking this out!
Great capture Phil – that is definitely one curled up neck! 🙂
It’s funny how they curl it around on land but it’s straight out like a spear under water.
Lovely indeed – that eye is mesmerizing.
I didn’t even realize her eye looked like that until I look closely, amazing eyes for sure.
Amazing photography, Phil, and pefectly illuminated.
I appreciate you looking and commenting thanks!
I wonder if she swallowed an eel and is making sure it stays down.
If she swallowed an eel it looks like that eel is putting up a bit of a fight. 🙂
She looks so fluffy and feminine! I love the coy look she is giving you!
She does have that certain look about her doesn’t she?!
Very Nice! Love the eye!
Yeah those eyes sure do stand out and are something special. Thanks for looking!
magnificent
I’m glad you like seeing this odd, interesting bird Scott!
I have never seen one in person, but I would much rather see her than a snake. This photo is a wonder!
They are more cute then a snake but some snakes I do like.
Last summer though my wife juuuust barely stopped me from stepping on a little copperhead out by the swamp. The young ones are who you have to watch out for too, they can be feisty and still can send in enough venom to cause serious issues.
