In A Twist
When you look at this female anhinga it’s easy to understand how they are sometimes referred to as a ‘snake bird’.
When I saw this lovely young lady soaking up the sun at the edge of the marsh yesterday morning, her personality and unique talents shone through.

Beautiful shot. He looks like he has fur, he is beautiful and as usual your photography is amazing.

Great capture Phil – that is definitely one curled up neck! 🙂

It’s funny how they curl it around on land but it’s straight out like a spear under water.

I wonder if she swallowed an eel and is making sure it stays down.

If she swallowed an eel it looks like that eel is putting up a bit of a fight. 🙂

I have never seen one in person, but I would much rather see her than a snake. This photo is a wonder!

They are more cute then a snake but some snakes I do like.
Last summer though my wife juuuust barely stopped me from stepping on a little copperhead out by the swamp. The young ones are who you have to watch out for too, they can be feisty and still can send in enough venom to cause serious issues.
