I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
Great description! I was just out this evening at dusk, watching several Snowies flitting about in the pond, jumping up every few moments, chasing after every slight movement in the water.
Thanks much! If you get a minute, check out my post from a few days back of the avocets and the ‘snowy’ and let me know what you think.
At least I’m 70/30 it’s a snowy. I’m also thinking it *could* be an immature LBH. Tough to tell sometimes.
Such beautiful little birds – they always remind me of a ballerina from Swan Lake. Yet again you shoot it against the great backdrop, Phil, that shows up every detail perfectly!
Action shots are some of your finest work…Love the relationship you have developed with your subjects.
Thank you Charlie, I try to make them look good and make them do all the work. 🙂

I would definitely say that was a Snowy Egret! And I love those pics of the elegant Avocets-

Thanks a million Maggie, glad you like this guy and his environment. 🙂
That’s a great stop-motion egret image.
Thanks very much for looking and commenting and glad you liked this shot!
What a beautiful shot, and against such a great background. Really shows him off.
Thanks so much I was happy he flew against that green, which makes the white birds look good.
