I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
A tricolored heron takes a break from fishing in the marsh pond at the end of the day.
These are extremely active birds and after a few hard hours of fishing, their battery needs to recharge.
The early evening autumn sunlight makes this cute little guy stand out rather nicely.
Thanks very much for checking them out and glad you liked them!
He’s really debonair, Phil. You’d never guess that he just had a hard day at the salt marsh. 🙂
I have several shots of this guy catching fish prior to taking these photos, but figured I’d go with this portrait type view because I liked the warmer light. I’ll save those fishing shots for another day. 🙂
Lovely portraits of a gorgeous feathered friend, Phil.
Thanks a bunch for checking these out Gunta and glad you liked seeing the colorful Tri!
Such gorgeous shots in this light. I know what you mean…It is interesting to see them when they slow down from their very busy, active behavior once in awhile.
Thank you, I’m happy you liked seeing this fun active Tri. As I mentioned to Sylvia, I have several shots of this guy catching fish prior to taking these photos, but figured I’d go with this portrait type view because I liked the warmer light. Plus it’s nice for a change to see them a bit relaxed.
That beautiful light of yours captures the glorious colours of this little bird so well!
Hey thanks Maggie, glad you enjoyed seeing the colorful Tri! I’m always happy when that end of day sunlight warms a scene.
Thanks very much for looking and commenting and glad you liked seeing the Tri in a relaxed moment.
Beautiful shots, Phil.
I appreciate that very much David and I’m happy you liked seeing the fun, colorful Tri!
Beautiful shots, Phil. Love the contrast of the bird colors with the jewel blue water.
Thank you Deb and that’s what I liked most about these shots as well. I have earlier photos of this guy fishing but just thought I would go with a more portrait type scene this time.
Looks so peaceful out there with the birds.
It really is and I enjoy those times very much.
