Sticks The Landing
Earlier this week I followed this egret as it flew in low just over the marsh reeds which were lit by warm setting sunlight. I was extremely impressed by the perfect landing plus I particularly liked those fluffed up neck and chest feathers at the end! 🙂

Wonderful! Happy New Year 😉

Gorgeous, Phil! I envy you for the beautiful white in your air. We have white in the air here, too, but it’s not spelled egret. It’s spelled blizzard!

Oooo yeah that is a whole bunch of white isn’t?!? 😯 No blizzard here but it’s cold tonight, although… it’s supposed to be 63 on Sunday. 🙂
Thanks for checking out these egret pics!

63? Didn’t anyone tell you it’s not polite to gloat?? 😉

Oops sorry, you are right, I should stop doing that. I used to send photos of us on the beach in January to my frozen friends up north but stopped when I realized it wasn’t actually being very friendly. 😯 🙂

Oh, I’m sure they appreciated the humor, and I was only kidding about gloating. Besides, since you still have egrets and we don’t til spring, you can gloat all you want so long as you keep posting them on your blog.

73 tomorrow. Oops I did it again. 😯 😀

Hah! We’re supposed to top 55 tomorrow, so gloat to your heart’s content! 😉

Yep, I hear they’re shivering in the Bahamas, too, this week. I read somewhere that a Snowy Owl was seen there. Must have gone there for the tropical heat.

Hey thanks a bunch Amy! I thought that last one with the fluffed out feathers made the series, glad you liked it too!

While I like them all, I am impressed with the first image as it is a great angle to show the front flight position, wing spread and the head and neck not overlaying the rest of the bird so you get a good 3D angle of the view. I like it a lot anyhow. Great series!

Those brown reeds don’t look like much in mid day light but they warm up nice at sunset. Thanks so much!
