I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
This egret must have been very proud of his catch! He stood up straight and tall and took a moment to show me his fish…then made sure I got a good look at it before he gulped it down.
Well I sort of, for the most part, spared you the full up close and personal sad fishie face on this one Sylvia, but yes, it is not a good day for our little friend in the sea. 😦
Now, that’s just plain rubbin’ it in!!!
He’s a real wise guy!
I was referring to YOU with this marvelous shot! 😀
Ohhhhh… Well in that case thanks very much! 😀
Love it!
Thanks a bunch Pat!
Great shot Phil.
Glad you like it Jan.
Superbe photo Phil
I appreciate that Sophie, thank you.
Hai pure la fortuna che si mettono in posa ahahhaa
Ottimo scatto, bellissimo!!!
Io sono fortunato quando smettono di mostrare fuori per me. Un uccello ben educati. 🙂
Superbe 🙂
Thanks very much
Giraffe! With a bill :). Sweet picture, love those eyes. That is a cute, poor, little fish, too.
Giraffe with a bill! Ha! I didn’t think of that, good one!
Yes sometimes you do have to feel a bit bad for the poor little fishies. 😦
Yes, yes I do like your fish. This goes well with Andrew’s recent post “BAD goes head to head”. Nice shot, Phil.
Thanks for checking this out Steve and I’ll let the egret know you were impressed with his little catch. 🙂
I just love his expression and how proud he was of his catch. What a great photo.
Wow thanks so much for the kind words I really appreciate it!
Looks like he is proud of his catch 🙂 Great shot, Phil!
Yes he does look quite proud, thanks for looking Amy and glad you liked the photo.
This may very well be the best egret portrait I ever saw! Fantastic that you caught him showing off his catch! 🙂
Well I greatly appreciate your very kind comments and I’m happy you enjoyed the egret photo!
That’s a long way down that hatch!
That fish is taking the express elevator to the basement.
This is a bizar photo, looks almost unreal. It would be impossible staging it. Funny.
That’s what I liked about the photo, the straight on look of the egret combined with it’s impossibly long neck had a rather comical effect I thought.
Well, aren’t I the clever one! Love the expression, Phil!
That egret does look quite pleased with himself. Thanks much Maggie!
Great showoff pic, Phil! That fish looks as though it knows its fate is sealed. 😦
Well I sort of, for the most part, spared you the full up close and personal sad fishie face on this one Sylvia, but yes, it is not a good day for our little friend in the sea. 😦
I did notice your sensitivity, and was most grateful. 😉
I’m always looking out for you. 🙂
The egret’s neck looks as long as a giraffe’s in this photo!
That fish will be taking the express elevator directly to the basement!
Gosh that is a long ride down for the fish he’ll be glad to get to the end of his journey.
