Isn’t He Just The Cutest Little Thing Ever?!?
While our alligator friend is enjoying a nice quiet snooze at the edge of the swamp, a little Pied-billed Grebe goes casually floating by.
I just thought he was so cute! Oh, and I suppose the little grebe is cute as well. 🙂
Se ne va tranquillo tranquillo 🙂
Molto bella, ci offri sempre foto stupende Phil. Grazie!!
Lui è felice di poter dormire in pace con il suo piccolo amico. 🙂
Cute , of course . And bold as well ! 🙂 !
Nice shot , Phil !
Thanks utham! Yes the little guy is almost as cute as the big guy. 😀
Guapissmo. Ooops sorry, gorgeous photo.
Guapissmo? Is that slang? I don’t recognize that one.
Thanks for checking this out and glad you liked the photo!
spanish. should have read guapissimo though 😀
Ah ok, because my translator came up with something in Swahili which I figured was not likely. 🙂
They are both cute but the gator is also quite dangerous, nice shot Phil.
Well the gator is slow and sleepy at this time of year but as the weather heats up so will the action. Thanks Jan.
he is cute!
Oh well of course he is cute! 😀 Thanks for looking!
You can’t be scared of our friend in the swamp?! 😯 🙂
Im very scarred Phil. Thuis is not my cup off Thea
Awww… He’s just a baby. 🙂
Thanks for checking it out and glad you liked this photo!
I know the gator is “cute” but what is that orange “lipstick” it seems to have spread around?
It looks like he got into a bag of Cheetos that *someone* carelessly left laying around.
Na der weiß schon, wie er sich zu benehmen hat 😀 ♥ Mathilda
Ja, er hat sich zu benehmen! Gut, dass Sie mag dieses Foto.
The alligator looks like he just had a meal and did not wipe his mouth with his napkin. I like the little grebe too.
He looks like he got into a bag of Cheetos!
A friend just opted to head south to FL this winter to escape the nasty storms in MA. She has a small dog and has been told about the ‘gators snatching dogs even on leash. She is scared to death to take her dog walking. You being the alligator expert, any advice?
It can happen and it does happen. But anyone just has to use common sense. Alligators can be opportunists. They won’t necessarily come bounding out of a pond just because they saw a small dog on a leash. But… if you are walking your dog along the edge of a pond that’s known to have alligators, don’t let the dog sniff over by some weeds where Mister A may be lurking. Because a gator that may have been sleeping but suddenly finds a small dog walking across his nose might take that opportunity to snatch it.
People that do get jumped by gators at golf courses and such had that happen because people have been feeding and or harassing the gator. Normally the gator would just prefer to be left alone.
amazing blog , regards
I appreciate you looking and commenting, thanks!
That is one big gator! I love grebes. They really are so cute. I hope you told him with a stern voice to stay away from that gator.
He was a pretty good size boy. The grebes are real cute and this grebe may know that it’s a little too early for the gator to be grabbing a snack.
He’s very cute. Is he smiling at me or does he just think I’m lunch? 🙂
Maybe he is having a very pleasant dream. Could be about food. 🙂
One of them is very cute, the other one, not so cute. Great shot Phil 🙂
Well the little duck can’t help that he isn’t as cute as the gator. 😛
Whahaha, right! 😯
Oh yeah! 😀 😆
The alligator is having sweet dreams, by the look of that smile! Little grebe so unconcerned!
I think he is having a happy little dream Maggie! Probably dreaming about food. 🙂
I’ve missed those alligators this winter, Phil! He really is just the cutest little thing….
I’ve missed the big guys too and now that they are starting to warm up and get active I’m having a tough time getting out there to see them.
Well there Are varying degrees of cuteness, Phil. The grebe is 100%, and Mr A is…… well……… maybe not quite as cute. 😀
Oh how can you say he isn’t that cute Sylvia?!? You know how sensitive he is, we can’t have hurt feelings out there, for a variety of reasons. 😀
Such breathtaking photographs.. Really..!!
Well I greatly appreciate your very kind words and thanks much for looking!
