Good Mood?…Maybe…
Yesterday afternoon our good pal Mr. A seemed to be in a good mood when he came floating over to my side of the marsh pond to say hello.
I of course can’t tell for sure, but I do wonder what he’s thinking…
I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.

Dinner!
Love your photos, Phil – another excellent one!

Spectacular photo of Mr. A! I love the play on textures.
What are the two knob like things in his reflection at the front of his mouth?

Well I’m very happy you enjoyed seeing our alligator friend!
I think those are reflections of his nostrils, which are extending a bit out and over from his actual nose. 🙂

He’s thinking, of course, “I wonder if Phil tastes like chicken?”
Great, intensely-focused photo!

I don’t think he wants to gnaw on me, I’m too gristly and chewy. 🙂
Thanks for checking out our gator friend!

I’m still chuckling over the chicken comment. Not to worry Phil, the reason the gator has those big teeth is to deal with a little chewy

The part that always worries me is how they feel compelled to go into a ‘death roll’ whenever they latch into something good sized. I strongly suspect I would find being on the receiving end of that most unpleasant.
Anyway, the last laugh is on him. He was feeding at the edge of the marsh later and I saw him catch something that appeared to turn out to be a stick. So he can just chew on that. Ha!
And yes I have pics!

Amazing image! I agree with Mary, I think he looks like he’s in a good mood because he just found dinner. 😉

He was recently dining on some fish so a full belly would indeed put our boy in a good mood. 🙂

Phil, that is a fantastic angle. Just an unbelievable photo. He looks almost disembodied. Something out of a sci-fi film for sure.

Well I’m very happy you enjoyed seeing our gator friend. When the water is like that I always hope an alligator will come gliding in and I purposely try to capture scenes like this.

I would love to give him a pat on the head and maybe a nice little scritch between the ears, kitty style.
