Last week this adult brown pelican made a quick departure from the salt marsh after a heavy round of fishing.

  Yes their coloration does change as they age. This is an adult brown pelican who no longer has much if any brown on him. As juveniles they are mostly all brown, check out this post from Dec. which shows a young brown pelican looking ‘brown’.
