Little Mister Cool

Yesterday afternoon just as I was about to leave the marsh area, I spotted this young alligator hanging out along the edge of the water trying his best to look casual and cool.

He found a nice comfy spot amid the tall green grass to relax and also a perfect place to rest his chin. I think this little guy has the right idea!

      No way to tell by looking. In fact if I dragged one up out of the water and flipped it over, I couldn’t tell.
      I generally just give precedence to the male pronoun when describing the various wildlife for convenience.

  He lives mostly with his little friends in an area we call ‘baby cove’ which is a small quiet corner of the marsh pond. Occasionally one of the big guys will come steaming in like a battleship and the smaller ones need to make themselves scarce.
